Chapter 14 - Storming the Citadel

The interior of The Leviathan was a labyrinth of echoing steel corridors, vibrating with the deafening roar of massive engines. Julian moved like a wraith through the narrow hallways, eliminating targets with lethal, surgical efficiency.

Every shot was silenced; every takedown was absolute. Thorne’s mercenaries, trained for conventional combat, were wholly unprepared for an apex predator hunting in closed quarters driven by the singular instinct of a vengeful father.

Below decks, a series of muffled explosions rocked the vessel. The engine hum stuttered, then groaned to a violent halt. The ship began to drift, caught in the coastal swell. Eleanor had done her job; the ship was stranded.

Julian reached the reinforced steel doors of the primary bridge.

Inside, he could hear Thorne shouting frantic orders through a satellite link. "Reroute the power! I don't care about the engines, finalize the Zurich transfer!"

Julian didn't bother picking the lock. He attached a block of C4 breaching compound directly to the hinges, stepped back around the steel corner, and detonated the charge.

The explosion blew the heavy blast door off its runners, filling the bridge with concussive fire and blinding smoke.

Julian breached through the debris, firing two controlled bursts. Thorne’s two personal bodyguards dropped instantly, their blood spattering the navigation consoles.

Victor Thorne stood alone at the center console, clutching his silver cane, his face pale with horror as Julian emerged through the smoke, bloodied, drenched, and unyielding as death itself.

The computer monitor beside Thorne flashed green: Transfer Complete. 100% Uploaded.

"You're too late, Julian," Thorne sneered, though his voice shook with primal dread. "The money is gone. The keys are mine. You kill me, and my executors will hunt Lily until the day she dies. You cannot erase what I built!"

Julian walked forward slowly, tossing his empty weapon aside. He reached into his pocket and pulled out the shattered diamond dagger brooch.

"You forgot one detail, Victor," Julian said softly.
