Marcus arranged a clandestine meeting by slipping a handwritten note into Richard’s morning newspaper delivery, giving precise instructions to meet near the old boathouse by the lake at dusk, away from the mansion's prying eyes. As the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in bruised shades of purple and orange, Richard arrived at the designated spot, looking exhausted and disheveled. When Elena stepped out from the shadows of the weeping willows, Richard initially recoiled, his instincts telling him to protect his family, but her steady, unwavering gaze stopped him in his tracks. Without a word, Elena handed him the small USB drive. Richard stared at it skeptically before pulling a portable tablet from his coat, plugging the drive in, and pressing play. As the video played before his eyes—showing his wife's ruthless push and subsequent framing of the innocent maid—Richard’s face drained of all color, his knees buckling slightly as the horrifying reality of the woman he shared a bed with crashed down upon him.
