Chapter 5 - The Glass CorridorOutside in the observation hallway, Tyler Harris leaned against the cinder-block wall, watching the red stall light blink. His hands shook as he scrolled through his phone.

On the screen was an email draft addressed to the Disciplinary Board: Formal Report of Academic Theft and Ethics Violation by Rachel Vance. All he needed was the video confession. But Isolation Stall 4 was eerily quiet. There were no sounds of thrashing hooves, no screams, no frantic rattling of the iron bars.

Tyler walked back to the small viewing window, peering through the wire-reinforced glass.

What he saw froze the blood in his veins.

The dangerous, unapproachable thoroughbred—the horse three veterinarians had recommended for immediate euthanasia due to unprovoked aggression—was standing motionless, his muzzle resting gently on Rachel’s forearm. Rachel was inspecting the horse’s neck with clinical focus.

Tyler saw her fingers detach the white clip. He saw the black drive in her palm.

"No," Tyler breathed, his voice cracking. "She found it."

Panic, raw and uncalculated, took hold of him. If that drive reached Dean Thorne or the campus police, it wouldn't just mean academic expulsion; it meant federal prison for pharmaceutical theft, animal cruelty, and interstate fraud. Tyler slammed his palm against the emergency manual override, determined to drag her out by force.
