Chapter 15 - The Unbroken Circle The wedding was held in the courtyard behind their shared brownstone, attended only by close friends, teachers from the boys' school, and neighbors who had helped Nia during the lean years.

Julian and Leo served as ring bearers, proudly carrying the bands on a velvet cushion they had made themselves with green felt and fabric glue.

As dusk settled, lanterns illuminated the garden. Nia danced with Luca to a slow acoustic melody, her head resting against his shoulder, listening to the calm, steady rhythm of his heart.

"Look at them," Luca whispered, nodding toward the grass where Julian and Leo were showing their neighbor’s daughter how to catch fireflies in a glass jar, ensuring they left the lid perforated so the insects could breathe.

"They know how to be gentle," Nia said softly.

"Because you raised them with love, not pride," Luca said, pressing a kiss to the crown of her head. "And now they have both of us to guard that light forever."
