Chapter 14 - The Final Upload

Inside the cabin, the single kerosene lamp cast a warm, flickering glow across the cluttered wooden table where Jax had set up an old satellite laptop connected via a secure relay router. The girl sat on a stool beside him, guiding his larger fingers across the keyboard as they prepared to broadcast the encrypted dossier to every major news outlet and federal watchdog agency in the state simultaneously. ""Ready?"" Jax asked, his finger hovering over the enter key. She nodded firmly, her small hand resting right on top of his, anchoring him in the storm. With a single decisive click, the progress bar shot across the screen, uploading gigabytes of corrupted financial records, offshore accounts, and incriminating voice memos into the public domain before anyone could trace the signal. Outside, the distant rumble of helicopter rotors began to vibrate through the floorboards—they had found them. But Jax didn't flinch; he leaned back in his chair, a grim, satisfied smile playing across his bearded face. ""Let 'em come,"" he muttered, standing up and reaching for his heavy leather vest. ""The whole world is watching now.""
