Chapter 14 - The Final Prescription

Christian signaled his tactical team with a simple flick of his fingers. ""Secure the server core. Liquidate the woman and the child. Bring my brother to the transport.""

""No!"" Julian lunged forward, but the nearest operative stepped into his path, slamming the butt of a tactical carbine directly into Julian's ribs. Julian collapsed to his knees, gasping for air as the operative pressed the cold muzzle of the weapon against the base of his skull.

Leo screamed from behind the server rack, running out into the open toward Julian, his small fists flailing against the operative's armored leg. ""Let him go! Leave my daddy alone!""

The operative casually reached out to shove the child to the floor, but Christian raised a hand, stopping him. ""Wait. Look at the boy's eyes.""

Leo was standing in the center of the cleanroom floor, his head tilted upward toward the ceiling vents. The cooling packs had fallen away, and the intense acoustic shockwave from the breaching charge had re-ignited the dormant neural pathways in his temporal lobe.

His hazel eyes were glowing with a terrifying, luminescent blue hue—the unmistakable signature of active ocular data processing.

""He isn't just an archive,"" Julian choked out from the floor, coughing blood onto the white tiles. ""Did you really think I would trust an external server array with the master keys, Christian? I knew you would track me here. I knew you would wait for the abort sequence.""

Christian’s smile vanished, his revolver snapping toward the child. ""What did you do to him?""

""I didn't upload the keys to your network,"" Julian whispered, a bloody grin breaking across his face. ""I redirected the entire database into his neural network as a write-once, execute-all bio-command. Leo isn't just carrying the cipher anymore. He controls this facility.""

Leo looked directly at the primary console. Without touching a single keyboard, the boy spoke three sharp, metallic syllables—the raw machine language Julian had hardcoded into the facility’s biological core seven years ago.

The lab's environmental safety systems screamed to life. The automated nitrogen fire-suppression vents in the ceiling hissed open, unleashing a blinding, arctic torrent of compressed liquid nitrogen directly into the center of the room.
