Chapter 10 - The Labyrinthine Tunnels

On the flickering monitor screen, an unfamiliar silhouette stood motionless on their front porch, holding a gasoline canister and staring directly up at the bedroom window with a blank, featureless white mask. Realizing they were trapped inside a house engineered as a cage, Ryan grabbed a heavy iron crowbar from the hallway closet and smashed open the floor grate in the master bedroom, creating a wide entryway into the primary ventilation artery. ""We have to get out through the crawlspace, now!"" Ryan shouted, lifting Leo onto his back. Sarah hesitated for only a second before following Ryan down into the cold, damp metal conduit. The tunnel stretched out endlessly into pitch darkness, illuminated only by the faint green glow of emergency exit lights wired deep within the floorboards. As they crawled frantically through the metallic maze, the sound of heavy boots echoed behind them—someone was crawling through the pipes right behind them, closing the distance at terrifying speed.

The tunnel suddenly split into three identical, dark pathways, and a chilling voice echoed through the metal acoustics from all directions: “Choose the wrong pipe, and you stay down here forever.”
