Chapter 14 - The Final Stand

The flashing red lights cast an eerie, blood-red glow across Victoria’s face. The poised, smiling socialite was completely gone; standing in her place was a desperate, lethal heiress willing to burn her entire world to ashes rather than lose control.
""You really thought you could outsmart me in my own house, Julian?"" Victoria asked, her voice dangerously calm as she took a slow, deliberate step into the server room. ""I built you. I pulled you out of the gutter, gave you a name, gave you an empire. And you threw it all away for a dying ghost and a bastard child.""
""She isn't a bastard, Victoria,"" Julian said, his voice steady as he kept one hand resting casually on the edge of the console, his fingers hovering over the master transfer execution key. ""And the empire you're standing on was built on stolen bones. I just transferred ownership back to its rightful heir.""
Victoria’s eyes flared with unadulterated fury, her finger tightening slightly on the trigger. ""You fool! If you execute that transfer, the accounts freeze, the board collapses, and everything we own is seized by federal investigators within the hour! We lose everything!""
""We don't lose anything, Victoria,"" Julian corrected, taking a slow step forward, refusing to cower. ""You do. Game over.""
Before Victoria could pull the trigger, a deafening roar echoed from the front of the mansion—the sound of a dozen heavily modified motorcycle engines revving simultaneously, accompanied by the shattering of the grand iron front gates and the wailing of automated security sirens. Jax and his crew had arrived, creating precisely the chaos Julian had engineered.
Victoria’s head snapped toward the ceiling in momentary distraction as the distant sound of shouting and shattering glass echoed through the sub-basement vents. That single microsecond of hesitation was all Julian needed.
With an explosive lunge, Julian slammed his palm down onto the execution key on the console just as Victoria fired. The silenced bullet hissed through the air, grazing the side of Julian’s shoulder and embedding itself deep into the server rack with a shower of blue sparks. Julian didn't flinch; he slammed his shoulder directly into Victoria’s chest, driving her backward against the heavy steel doorframe.
The pistol flew from her hand, clattering loudly against the concrete floor. Julian pinned her against the wall, his arm pressed firmly across her collarbone, his dark eyes burning with an intense, unyielding fury.

""It's over, Victoria,"" Julian whispered into her ear. ""The police are already ten minutes out, armed with every financial crime document you've tried to bury for the last fifteen years.""
Victoria stared up at him, her chest heaving, the color completely drained from her face as she realized the absolute totality of her defeat.
