Chapter 6 - The Broken Lineage
A third figure stepped into the dining area, older and far more composed, holding a sleek black revolver pointed directly at Shen’s chest. His name was Victor Kang, Julian’s former business partner and the man who had torn their lineage apart thirty years prior. Victor’s hair was slicked back with gray streaks, his expensive tailored suit contrasting sharply with the chaos on the café floor. He looked down at little Leo with a chilling, dispassionate curiosity that froze Elena’s blood.
Victor demanded the second half of the jade talisman, explaining that Julian had hidden the deed to an offshore vault that held the true records of their family’s lost heritage. Shen stepped between the gun and the family, his arms hanging loose at his sides in a deceptive posture of surrender. ""The boy knows nothing,"" Shen stated flatly, his eyes locking onto Victor’s finger against the trigger. Victor chuckled dryly, shaking his head. ""In this bloodline, Shen, nobody gets to be innocent.""
