Chapter 10 - Courage in the Dark
Standing near the driveway under the pouring rain, Ethan blocked the transport vehicle with his own car. Julian stepped out, his voice booming over the sound of thunder. "She needs specialized care, Ethan! You are interfering with her medical treatment!"
Ethan stepped into the storm, walking straight up to his brother. "She doesn't need a prison, Julian! She needs a family!"

Inside the transport, Lily looked through the rain-streaked window. She saw Ethan standing tall against the man who had kept her hidden for years. Gathering all her strength, Lily pushed open the van door, holding her stuffed bunny tight against her chest. She walked out into the rain, her small steps deliberate and brave. She walked past Julian without looking back and took Ethan’s hand.
"I want to stay with Uncle Ethan," she said, her young voice clear and unwavering against the storm. Julian stood paralyzed, unable to command a child who had finally found her own voice.
