Chapter 14 - The Gift of Tomorrow

That evening, as the sun began to dip below the horizon, casting a warm golden glow across the valley, Ethan helped Lily organize her bedroom. Her room was now filled with light, warm wood, and walls covered in her own colorful artwork.
On her bedside table sat the blue nebulizer, no longer a symbol of secret suffering, but simply a normal medical tool resting beside her favorite books. Lily picked up her white stuffed bunny and sat on the edge of her bed.
"Uncle Ethan?" she asked, looking up with her clear, hopeful hazel eyes.
"Yes, Lily?"

Ethan knelt beside her bed, taking her small hand in his. "I know he can, sweetie. And I know he is so proud of how brave you are. You saved my life, Lily. You saved all of us."
