Chapter 13 - The Echo of the Past
When Leo started kindergarten, a high-society journalist tracked Bella down in Maine, seeking an exposé on the "mysterious disappearance" of the billionaire’s ex-wife and heir. The reporter arrived at Bella’s greenhouse with intrusive questions and cameras.
Before the situation escalated, Julian intervened legally and publicly. He released an unequivocal press statement taking full responsibility for the end of their marriage, praising Bella as an extraordinary mother, and placing strict legal injunctions against anyone harassing his family.
That night, Julian called Bella. "I'm sorry the noise reached your doorstep. It won't happen again."
"Thank you for handling it quickly," Bella said. "Leo was scared for a moment."
