The legal repercussions for Victoria Sterling culminated in a courthouse press conference three weeks later. Exposed by her own sister Katherine and buried under the evidence compiled by Julian's forensic accountants, Victoria was formally indicted on multiple counts of corporate fraud, extortion, and harassment.
As she was led down the courthouse steps in handcuffs, reporters thrust microphones into her face. The elegance and haughtiness were entirely gone, replaced by a hollow, bitter glare.
Clara watched the broadcast from the warmth of the living room. There was no joy in her heart, no triumphant malice. She felt only a profound sadness for a woman who had every privilege in the world, yet chose cruelty over love.
