Chapter 6 - An Unexpected Alliance
A week later, an unexpected visitor arrived at the estate. It was not another furious investor or Victoria’s attorneys, but Katherine Sterling—Victoria’s estranged older sister.
Katherine was a respected investigative journalist who had long severed ties with her corrupt family. She sat in Julian's study, dressed in a sharp gray suit, sipping black coffee.
"I didn't come to defend my sister," Katherine stated plainly, handing Julian an encrypted flash drive. "I came to warn you."
Julian leaned back, analyzing her. "Warn me about what?"
"Victoria’s pride is toxic. Our father cut her off this morning after your legal notices hit. She has nothing left to lose," Katherine warned, glancing toward the courtyard where Clara was walking in the autumn breeze. "She blame Clara for everything. Victoria hired private investigators to dig into Clara’s past, trying to prove she was paid by our competitors to entrap you."

Julian smiled coldly. "Clara grew up in an orphanage after her parents died in a factory accident. Her record is spotless. She worked two jobs to keep Leo alive."
"I know that," Katherine sighed. "And the public will love her story once they know it. But Victoria doesn't care about truth. Be careful with her security, Julian. Spite is a dangerous weapon."
