Chapter 11 - The Sterling Sanctuary
A year later, the Sterling Foundation inaugurated the first Eleanor & Clara Center for Family Hope in the heart of the city. The multi-story sanctuary was designed to provide emergency housing, free legal representation, and psychological care for victims of domestic abuse and corporate coercion.
At the ribbon-cutting ceremony, cameras flashed as Marcus stood at the podium.
"True power is not measured by the size of an estate or the influence of a portfolio," Marcus addressed the crowd of reporters, civic leaders, and families. "True power is the capacity to restore dignity where cruelty has stolen it. I introduce to you the executive director of this sanctuary: my daughter, Clara Sterling."
Clara stepped to the microphone, holding a thriving, one-year-old Leo on her hip. The crowd erupted into warm applause.

Clara smiled, adjusting the microphone. "Every one of us will face moments when we are rendered voiceless—by circumstance, by trauma, or by people who view our vulnerability as an opportunity for conquest. But silence is not surrender. Today, we open these doors so that no one in this city ever has to endure their darkest hour alone."
From the front row, Dr. Aris and Detective Sarah Reyes joined in the standing ovation. Clara looked down at Leo, who clapped his hands with delight, mesmerized by the flashing lights.
