Chapter 10 - Healing in the Garden
Spring brought thaw, green shoots, and a need for rebirth. Thomas demolished the formal rose garden Elena had designed and invited Lily over every weekend to help rebuild it from raw earth.
They planted sunflower seeds, wild lavender, and sweet strawberries.
"Uncle Thomas, are you still sad?" Lily asked, holding a spade dusted with rich soil.
"Less every day, little bird," he smiled, wiping dirt from her cheek. "Gardening teaches you that you have to clear out the rotting roots before anything beautiful can bloom again."

"Then we will grow tall enough to do the same," he promised.
