Arthur's face turned the color of dry parchment. His cigar slipped from his fingers, smoldering against the cabin's woven carpet.
""You... you bought my own crew?"" Arthur stammered, his aristocratic veneer shattering instantly.
""I didn't buy them,"" Elena replied, rising smoothly from her seat. ""They were my father's security detail before you forced them into private contracting. They’ve been waiting seven years for someone to give them the evidence to put you in a cage.""
She retrieved the recording device concealed within her silver necklace—the very necklace Evelyn had mocked as cheap costume jewelry during that infamous dinner. Every word Arthur had spoken, every confession regarding her father's suspicious death, was currently streaming live to an encrypted server managed by Interpol.
The jet touched down with a sharp screech of rubber against the Zurich runway. Blue emergency beacons bathed the cabin windows in pulsing light.
