The cabin lights dimmed into night mode, casting a soothing indigo hue over the leather suites. While Leo slept peacefully, Elena and Julian spoke in hushed tones, trading fragments of their lives.
Julian learned that Elena was a nurse at a community clinic in Chicago. "No," Julian replied, looking at the untouched glass of champagne on his console. "It really doesn't. My wife Clara loved traveling. We booked this trip a year ago to celebrate our anniversary. When she died... I couldn't cancel it. I thought if I ran far enough across the ocean, I could figure out how to raise Leo without her."
