Chapter 7 - The Shadows in the NurserySpring arrived with a quiet warmth over the coastal town of St. Augustine, far away from the Vance estate. Clara walked along the beach road, the sound of the Atlantic tide soothing the lingering tension in her muscles.

She lived in a modest cedar cottage, purchased with her own savings from her career as a maritime compliance officer—the work that had originally introduced her to David.

Her phone chimed. A message from Marcus: Grandmother has entered palliative care. She refuses to sign the final property release until she sees you.
