Chapter 10 - The Sanctuary of New BeginningsLater that evening, the golden rays of sunset bathed the private suite at St. Jude’s Women’s Hospital. The room was tranquil, filled with fresh flowers sent by Clara’s colleagues, humming monitors showing stable vitals, and the soft, steady breathing of a sleeping infant.

Clara sat propped up in bed, cradling her newborn daughter. When a soft knock sounded at the door, she looked up to see Frank, now dressed in a clean, understated navy wool sweater and slacks, holding a small silver gift box.
"May I come in?" he asked quietly.
"Please, Frank," Clara said, her voice full of emotion. "You never need to ask."
Frank walked over and looked down at the tiny baby, whose small fingers gripped Clara's thumb with surprising strength.
"She is magnificent, Clara. Have you chosen a name?"
"Her name is Grace," Clara said, tears glistening in her eyes. "Grace Sterling Hayes. Because without you, we wouldn't have survived that room today."

Frank was moved to silence for a moment, gently tapping the baby's tiny hand with his finger. "Grace is a name of unearned favor. But you earned your freedom, Clara. You stood up for the truth even when you were exhausted, vulnerable, and alone. You are the bravest person in that building."
He placed the silver box on the bedside table. Inside was a legal trust document, securing full funding for Grace's education and housing through adulthood.
