Chapter 1 - The Breach at Dawn

The morning sun beat down mercilessly on the pristine, palm-fringed driveway of the luxury coastal resort. David Miller stepped out of the idling black SUV, his sharp eyes scanning the manicured lawns and the gleaming glass facade of the entrance. In a dark, impeccably tailored suit that clung tightly to his muscular frame, he radiated a suppressed, lethal energy. His heart hammered against his ribs, not from fear, but from a cold, focused fury. Only moments ago, through the tinted glass of the vehicle, he had witnessed the terrifying reality his children were thrust into. His ten-year-old daughter, Emily, sat frozen in the back seat, clutching her tiny newborn brother, Liam, wrapped tightly in a soft green blanket. Her small hand had been pressed against the window, her face pale with panic as a stranger in a beige suit snatched away the case containing their mother's most guarded secrets. David knew time had run out. He yanked the rear door open, his movements precise and urgent, pulling his children into the safety of the open air. But as he looked toward the revolving glass doors, his target emerged—a clean-shaven man carrying a heavy black executive briefcase. Without a second thought, David set his children behind a concrete pillar, locked eyes on the man in the beige suit, and charged forward like a freight train.
