Chapter 13 - Reclaiming the PastThat summer, Evelyn returned to her alma mater to deliver the commencement address for the business school. Standing at the podium before thousands of young graduates in black robes, she looked out at a sea of hopeful, ambitious faces.

"True wealth," Evelyn spoke into the microphone, her voice carrying clear and steady across the quadrangle, "is not measured by what you can accumulate, conceal, or manipulate. It is measured entirely by what you refuse to compromise."
She spoke of failure, of betrayal, and the sacred duty to tear down any institution that demands your self-respect as rent. When she finished, the auditorium rose in an ovation that thundered against the stone arches.
In the back row, leaning against the doorframe with a proud smile, Thomas was clapping.
