Chapter 11 - The Awakening of Truth

With Victoria facing formal indictment and Eleanor retreating to a solitary estate in the south of France, peace finally descended upon the Sterling manor.

Clara spent her days walking in the library she had once cataloged, now filling it with children’s books and warm woolen blankets. She helped Julian establish the Hayes Foundation—a non-profit trust dedicated to providing housing, legal protection, and maternal healthcare to underprivileged domestic workers across the state.

Julian spent less time behind boardroom glass and more time by Clara’s side. He learned how she liked her tea, how she hummed softly when the baby kicked, and how her smile could disarm the lingering ghosts of his scarred childhood. For the first time in his life, the tattoos on his skin felt less like armor and more like relics of a battle he had already survived.
