Chapter 7 - The Ledger of Lies

Chaos erupted in muted gasps and clicking cameras. Victoria stepped forward, her face flushed with fury. “This is a sick joke! She is a thief who stole from your mother’s safe! She threw herself at you for money!”
Julian did not raise his voice. He simply signaled to his head of security, who carried a leather briefcase directly to the podium.
“For six months, Victoria Van Allen and my mother have circulated that lie,” Julian spoke clearly. “What they didn’t realize is that my private security team recovered the security hard drives my mother thought were wiped. We also recovered Victoria’s private wire transfers to the maid agency, instructing them to confiscate Clara’s passport and withhold her medical visits.”
Julian pulled out a certified folder, laying it under the spotlight. “Furthermore, forensic audits show five million dollars embezzled from the Van Allen trust into offshore accounts—funds Victoria used to bribe internal staff.”

Victoria’s knees visibly trembled. She looked around desperately, but the society friends who had smiled beside her moments ago were already taking steps backward, isolating her under the glare of truth.
“You disgraced yourself, Victoria,” Julian said coldly. “Leave this house. Security will escort you off the premises. Your board has already received the audit.”
