Chapter 15 - The Unbroken Dawn

That night, Clara returned to her private studio perched at the top of the Living Canopy.

The floor-to-ceiling windows looked out over the vast, sparkling expanse of the city skyline. Far in the distance, the hollow luxury towers stood against the night sky, cold and remote behind their steel-and-glass walls.

Clara slipped off her shoes. Her bare feet touched the warm, hand-scraped cedar floor of her sanctuary.

She looked down at her hands—strong, capable, unburdened by golden handcuffs or fear. Exactly one year ago tonight, she had sat on a cold bedroom carpet, shivering beneath the shadow of a man who believed he could destroy her with a leather belt and a cruel signature. She remembered the freezing rain on the pavement, the terror of having nowhere to turn, and the hollow ache of feeling entirely unloved.

She smiled softly to herself, stepping onto the open terrace.

The summer breeze swept through the climbing jasmine, carrying the gentle scent of earth, life, and blooming possibilities. The night had not broken her; it had simply stripped away the cage that kept her from flying.

Clara took a long, deep breath of clean air, watched the city lights glow peacefully beneath the endless canopy of stars, and stepped forward into her life—free, whole, and utterly unbreakable."
