Chapter 12 - The Catalyst of Wrath

The crimson strobe lights flashed rhythmically across the white marble, casting long, fractured shadows over Aiden and Elena as they stood locked in a tense, silent standoff. The air in the penthouse was thick with the scent of ozone and impending violence.
Marcus, gripping his pistol with white-knuckled intensity, looked desperately between Aiden and Viktor, waiting for a command that could change the course of the night. But Viktor stood paralyzed, his eyes fixed on the satellite communicator in Aiden's hand, realizing that their entire digital fortress had just been bypassed by an analog override.
“You think you’ve won because you seized the servers back, Aiden?” Viktor spoke up, his voice trembling slightly with suppressed adrenaline. “The federal indictments are already on the desk of the Attorney General. By sunrise, marshals will be kicking down these doors whether your servers are online or not.”
Aiden didn't look at Viktor. His dark, intense gaze remained fixed entirely on Elena’s face, searching for any flicker of fear, any sign that her unbreakable composure was finally cracking under the pressure of his counter-attack.
“Let them come,” Aiden said coldly. “In a federal prison or out on the streets, a man who has nothing left to lose is the most dangerous creature alive. And Elena knows that better than anyone.”
Elena’s chin rose defiantly. She met his gaze without flinching, her brown eyes burning with a deep, personal fury that transcended corporate greed or stolen wealth. “You talk about losing everything, Aiden? You never had anything to begin with. You only ever possessed what you stole, what you terrorized, and what you bought.”
She turned her head slightly toward the massive black Cane Corso standing calmly beside the window.
“Titan,” Elena commanded softly.
The giant beast didn't hesitate. With a sudden, explosive burst of raw muscle and unbridled power, Titan lunged across the room—not toward Elena, and not toward Viktor, but straight toward Marcus.
Before the bodyguard could pull the trigger, the massive dog slammed into his chest with the force of a speeding truck. Marcus’s pistol flew out of his hand, clattering loudly against the marble floor as he crashed backward, pinned beneath the crushing weight of the hundred-and-fifty-pound beast.
“Stop!” Aiden roared, instinctively stepping forward to intervene, but Viktor grabbed his arm with a desperate grip.
“Don't move, Aiden! The dog isn't yours anymore!” Viktor yelled.
Titan stood over Marcus, his massive jaws parted, letting out a low, vibrating growl that echoed like thunder through the penthouse. The remaining three guards dropped to their knees immediately, raising their empty hands in total surrender, unwilling to test the jaws of the apex predator that now answered solely to Elena.

Elena slowly walked past Aiden, her high heels clicking rhythmically against the floor, stopping right beside the pinned bodyguard and the massive dog. She looked down at Aiden, her expression a mask of cold, absolute triumph.
“The game isn't over, Aiden,” Elena whispered, her voice sending a chill straight down his spine. “It’s only just reaching the first act.”
