Chapter 13 - The Trap in the Tunnel

The SUVs tore through the rusted iron gates of the abandoned mining tunnel, plunging into pitch-black darkness before their high-beams cut through the damp air. The concrete walls echoed deafeningly with the roar of their engines.
“Cut the lights!” Hamilton commanded sharply.
Marcus instantly killed the headlights, plunging the vehicle into total darkness. They drifted to a silent halt near a massive industrial pillar. Behind them, the pursuing syndicate vehicles roared into the tunnel, their bright headlights searching blindly for their targets.

“Now,” Hamilton whispered.
Viktor and Marcus opened fire from the shadows, shattering the enemy windshields in a coordinated crossfire before the opposing drivers even realized they had driven into an ambush. The screech of grinding metal and shattered glass filled the cavernous space as the lead vehicles crashed into each other, blocking the tunnel completely.
