Chapter 14 - The Final Chessboard

Silence returned to the tunnel, broken only by the steady dripping of water from the stalactites above and the hiss of a punctured radiator. Hamilton stepped out of the SUV, his boots crunching on glass as he walked up to the wreckage. Vane’s lead enforcer was trapped inside the crushed cabin, bleeding and broken.
Hamilton leaned down, resting his forearm on the shattered door frame. “Tell Zurich the ghost has arrived.”

The enforcer spat blood, laughing weakly. “You... you think you can take down the entire council alone? They have an army waiting for you at the headquarters.”
“Let them bring an army,” Hamilton said coldly, standing back up and turning toward Elena, who had stepped out of the vehicle beside him, her eyes burning with resolute fire. “We’re done running. It’s time to take back what’s ours.”
