Chapter 12 - Reconnecting Broken Ties

As news of the foundation's work spread, estranged members of the community began reaching out to rebuild broken relationships. The town, once divided by the Vance family's overbearing influence, began to heal.
One afternoon, Elena invited former employees who had been let go under Victoria’s harsh management back to the estate. Among them was Clara, an elderly housekeeper who had worked at the manor during Elena’s early months there.
Clara sat with Elena in the sunlit tea room, sipping warm tea. "I wanted to speak up for you back then, my dear," Clara said softly, her eyes filled with regret. "But I was afraid of losing my job."
"I understand, Clara," Elena said, reaching across the table to squeeze her hand. "Fear makes quiet people of us all. What matters is that we are talking now."
