Chapter 15 - The Light That Stays

A year after the gala, the Vance estate hosted a community gathering under the warm evening sun. There were no tuxedoes, no expensive champagne, and no velvet ropes separating the host from the guests. Lanterns hung from the old oak trees, illuminating tables filled with food brought by local families.

Elena walked through the crowd, greeted warmly by neighbors and friends. She wore a simple white summer dress, her posture relaxed, her eyes bright with inner peace.

Julian joined her near the entrance of Sarah’s Garden. He held her hand softly, their fingers intertwined.

"What are you thinking about?" he asked gently.

Elena looked back at the grand house, its windows reflecting the soft golden light of the setting sun. The shadows that had once haunted its halls were gone, replaced by light and life.

"I’m thinking about how far we’ve come," Elena said, looking up at Julian with a genuine, beautiful smile. "We spent so long afraid of the dark, forgetting that all it takes to banish a shadow is the courage to turn on the light."

Julian leaned down and kissed her forehead softly. "And the light is here to stay."

As night fell over the valley, the estate remained warm and bright—a beacon of truth, healing, and enduring hope for everyone who entered its doors.
