Chapter 2 - The Shadows of the Estate

Leaving the estate was not merely an exit from a house; it was a departure from a gilded cage. Elena walked out into the chilly night air, refusing the coat offered by the butler. She stepped into a taxi, leaving behind the confused glances and the growing whispers of high society.

Her mind drifted back to how it all began. The Vance Manor was a sprawling property surrounded by dense pine forests. When she moved in after marrying Julian, she thought she was entering a dream. But the dream quickly warped. It started with subtle things: doors unlatching on their own, distant whispers in the hallway, and an overwhelming feeling of being watched.

When she voiced her discomfort, Julian’s mother, Victoria Vance, smiled coldly and suggested Elena visit a therapist. Julian, consumed by his family’s corporate empire, urged her to rest and take medication. No one looked closely. No one listened.

She had finally made the invisible visible. Now, she needed to discover the origin of the entity or person lurking within the shadows of the Vance estate before someone else suffered a worse fate.
