Chapter 15 - The New Legacy

The wedding was nothing like the high-society spectacles the Vance family was famous for. It took place not in a grand cathedral or an exclusive country club, but on a sun-drenched cliffside overlooking the crashing waves of the Pacific coast, far away from the smog and sharks of the corporate city. Only a small handful of guests attended: Dr. Hayes, a few loyal estate staff, and Jax, who stood proudly as Christian’s best man in a remarkably clean leather vest and a borrowed tie that he threatened to burn the second the ceremony ended. Emma walked down the makeshift aisle of wildflowers wearing a simple, elegant ivory silk dress that hugged her pregnant frame perfectly, her eyes locked onto Christian, who stood at the altar waiting for her with a look of absolute awe on his face.

As they exchanged vows written on simple scraps of paper rather than prepared corporate statements, the wind carried their words out toward the ocean. There were no hidden clauses, no secret contracts, and no power dynamics—just two people who had collided in the darkest corners of a luxury penthouse and found their way into the light together. When Christian slipped the emerald ring onto her finger and leaned in to kiss her, the applause from the small gathering was warm and genuine, led enthusiastically by Jax letting out a booming whistle that echoed off the cliffs. As the sun began to dip below the horizon, painting the sky in brilliant shades of gold and crimson, Emma rested her head against Christian’s shoulder as they watched the waves crash against the shore below.

""Penny for your thoughts, Mrs. Vance,"" Christian murmured, wrapping his arms securely around her waist, holding her close as the evening chill rolled in off the water. Emma smiled, looking out toward the endless horizon where the ocean met the sky, knowing that whatever storms lay ahead in their future, they would face them side by side, as absolute equals. ""I was just thinking,"" Emma replied softly, her hand resting over her belly, ""that houses built on secrets might collapse... but families built on truth last forever."" Christian pressed a tender kiss to the top of her head, the final shadows of his guarded past completely vanishing into the twilight. The game was over, and a brand-new legacy had officially begun."
